The Booth

You’re at an event or just walking down the street. From afar you see a neon sign, in red, and it says SPEAK YOUR SHAME. You’re intrigued and you walk closer and as you approach, you see that it’s a phone booth. Haven’t seen one of those in a while. And surrounding the booth are the Shame Dames, with their big smiles, their hats and t-shirts and their welcoming nature, inviting you to walk in, close the door, sit down, pick up the phone and speak your shame.

When you walk in, and close the doors behind you, you’re surrounded by a beautiful light blue color, haint blue, and it’s suddenly just you and the phone, a life line, to yourself. You pick up the receiver and a voice welcomes you to share your story of shame, and you do. You’re recorded, with your consent, and in the act of speaking your shame and letting it go out in the world, you, hopefully, become liberated from that which holds you back.

SHAMEBOOTH started out as an idea and now it travels all over the city and, potentially, the world. That’s the dream, to heal the whole world of shame. Is that too big?
